Frank Ata-Baah was born into the Baah lineage of spiritual dance and drum chiefs of the Central region of Ghana, West Africa. He has studied, taught, performed, and choreographed African traditional drumming and dance in many African countries including Ghana, Senegal, Mali, Gambia, Burkina-Faso, and Guinea. Karl Frost has been practicing, performing, and teaching contact improvisation and interdisciplinary, dance-based performance since the mid 1980s. His thesis work will explore interrelated issues of human relationship, interpersonal intimacy in various forms, the experience/pleasure/fear of the body, the relationship to and intimacy with environmental context, and different layers of human focus from the personal to the social to the political. Some of the performance will interact with the audience. Performance dates and venues are subject to change. |
